Hemispheres Quilt Top and Back

I finished my first test patten for Aria Lane a few weeks back and am so excited to finally be able to share it with all of you.  This is the first time I tested a pattern for someone so I was not sure if I would do a good enough job.  Hemispheres is designed by Megan Nichols from City Stitches.

I tested the crib size for the pattern which measures 40" x 48".

I used the new ModKid Studio Line by Patty Young for Joann Fabrics for the background Red Texture fabric and her Dark Blue Texture for one side of the Hemispheres block.  The other side of the block I used the Croquet Daisies print in yellow from the DS Quilt Collection also from Joann's.   I love how this turned out, lots of movement!

This pattern is fairly straight forward, don't let the curves put you off.  Once you do a few you will wonder why you never did them sooner.  A nice thing about this pattern is they provide coordinating pattern for the back of the quilt.  So much fun, like getting two quilts in one.

I used another ModKid Studio Print called Dark Gray Texture from Joann's with some scraps from the Red Texture from the front.  Very simple and modern.

I noticed today that Megan is going to be hosting a Quilt Along over at her site for this pattern if you are interested.  It starts Oct 21st, details can be found here.  I see there will be prizes and the lead up to the 21st there will be a blog hop to win a copy of the pattern. Lots of fun going on with this release.

Thank you for stopping by.

Cheers,
Abby
