Another Quilt Top and an early Christmas Present

I finally finished putting together my Impromptu Quilt, as always I start way to many projects at one time.  First blogged about it back in August

This is roughly 90" x 90".

This week my Christmas present arrived.  I know it is early but my husband is never one for waiting till December.

It weighs over 200 pounds and came on a pallet.  The very nice UPS Freight man dragged it up my gravel driveway on a pallet jack.

This shrink wrapped pile of boxes turned into a Juki TL-2200QVP.  Best present ever!

Now my room is officially full.  I had to stand in the doorway to get a shot of the whole machine.  I finished assembling it today and just have to work out a tension issue.  I plan on doing another blog post in the next day or so, talking more of the machine. After I finally get to play with it a bit.  I am super excited!

I am hoping by year end I will have finished two customer memory quilts and at least a quarter of this stack of quilt tops that I have been shelving for a while. I think there are 12 piled up in there.  Some with backs already pieced and some that I will have to make backs for.  But first I will practice on my whole cloth that I have loaded before I touch anything that I really care about.

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. I love the blocks and I especially love your early present. I'm also a newbie to quilting frames, I was lucky to win a gracie frame from a seller who had only used it a couple of times. I'm really looking forward to it being installed, my room isn't as big as yours so I it's perfect for the space. I look forward to seeing your work.
