A Lovely Year of Finishes - February Goal and Giveaway

Well 2014 is off and running at full speed it feels like.  January is such a blur but I am glad that I did accomplish so much. Well my Flickr Photostream says so.  I have a few projects that are left over but not too much.

I have a machine cover for my long arm on the frame and a couple pillow covers.  They are almost done just need to cut them out and finish them off.  I have a whole blog post for these projects just have been trying to get everything completed.  Hopefully sharing soon.

I did complete my January Goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes very proud of this.  Choosing a new goal for February was a bit hard as I have so many projects that I want to do and so many that are partially finished.  I am trying to finish up all my un-finished projects (UFO) in the first part of the year so I can start a ton more.  So for February my goal is to create a back, quilt and bind my quilt top my Impromptu top.

I have not even started working on my goals for this quarter that I have set for myself for the Finish Along Quarter 1 but I do hope to load one of the quilts up this weekend to get started on.

I also have many projects in the works that are slowly but surely getting done.  I have my Crafty Traveler Tote cut out and just need to finish a few steps.

I have cut out five totes that I am going to make for the Hopeful Threads 1st Quarter Project.  They are all ready to sew.

I am hoping to cut into this lovely stack of fabric this weekend for the Star Light Star Bright Quilt Along hosted by Melissa of Happy Quilting.  Each week there is a new assignment so I am hoping to stay on track.  New instructions come out every Wednesday.

Wow, February is going to be a busy one.  I better get moving but before I go I wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and reading my blog.  I did not realize till this morning that I have been blogging for a year.  I started my blog on January 25th last year and I am having so much fun.  I started blogging because I wanted to be able to share my projects and share my adventures with sewing and long arm quilting.  I am actually getting followers, which I really did not think I would.  Well except my mom but she is my mom so she is bias.  You do not know how excited this makes me.  I love the online sewing community. :)

To celebrate my first blogversary I wanted to have my first giveaway.  Everyone loves entering giveaways, right?  Can't say no to free fabric. :)  So for my first giveaway I will purchase a $25 gift certificate to one of my favorite online fabric shops Intrepid Thread for one lucky person.  All you have to do is comment on this post by 8pm ETZ on Wednesday the 5th of February 2014.  I will use Random.Org to choose a winner. Very easy.  Be sure you include a way to contact you or I will have to draw again.  I will announce the winner on the 6th on my blog. EDIT**GIVEAWAY HAS CLOSED***

Thank you again for stopping by and visiting my blog.

Cheers,
Abby

  1. My goodness, Abby, your fabric choices are amazing! I love the quilt tops that you have put together. I am envious of your eye for color and composition on those large projects. Would you believe that selecting fabrics for my projects is one of my least favorite parts of sewing? You make it look effortless. Beautiful work!
