Some Improv Patchwork

This week it feels like I have not managed much.  I spent most of the week creating a back for my Craftys BOM 2012 but of course forgot to take a picture before I loaded it on the frame.  Here is the start to the top of the quilt, my husband told me to not quilt it to death so I am trying my hardest :) but not sure if it is possible.  He insist that my quilts are not warm and I just say pile more on and you will be fine.

My cousin sent me a email a couple weeks ago asking for a pouch that she could put her wallet in; she loves her wallet but the zipper broke.  So I took her dimensions and this is what I came up with.

So excited that I created the pattern all on my own :)  The finished size is 8-1/2" x 4-1/4", used a mix of orange and purple scraps bordered with Essex Yarn Dyed Linen in Flax.  I love how it turned out.

I also created May's Classic Block of the month for Caroline at Sew Can She host over on her Facebook Group page here.  This is the first month that I actually made a block beside just pulling out fabric.  This month's block is Dutchman's Puzzle, I made my block to finish up as 8-1/2" square.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting.
