Still alive...

I have managed to do some project over the past month and a few commitments I have been able to catch up on.  I joined do good stitches this year and I have been able to just barely get by blocks done in time.

February do.Good Stitches -

March do.Good Stitches -

April do.Good Stitches -

May do.Good Stitches - which is amazingly done ahead of schedule :)

I also whipped up a couple flannel sleeping pants for the boys. Even though Brisbane has really not decide to go into autumn or winter yet.

I managed to finish up the second block in the Zodiac BOM - Pisces

Also redid the first block as I was not happy with the background grid lining up.

I volunteered to make some coin purses and fabric butterflies for the schools Mothers Day Stall. I am very happy with how the butterflies turned out. So cute.

I am participating in a Improv Round Robin on IG with some fellow Aussies.  We used the first score in Sherri Lynn Woods book called floating squares.  The round robin was to create 4 - 14" blocks using only aqua, coral and dark grey with a signature fabric of our choice.  Then we send three of the blocks off to new homes and we will get three blocks back.  I LOVE how my blocks turned out and can see a whole quilt done in this fashion.

I loaded a duvet cover and insert on my long arm in an experiment to see how I could go doing a cheater quilt.  This is probably the cheapest quilt I have made since I got the cover on clearance. Here is a peek at the finished quilting. I will share more once I get the binding on.

As the month is wrapping up I really just wanted to make something small and finish it in one sitting.  I have a ledge that sits behind my sewing machine between he living room and my sewing area and I thought it would be nice to have something sewing related on display.  So I whipped up a small little bee pin cushion.  The paper piece pattern is by Bad Skirt and I just turned it into a pin cushion.

I think I might make some more, it is nice to finish something with in the same hour you start it.

Well as you can see I have managed to get some sewing completed over the past month. Still have a huge back log of works in progress but am working on a plan to get those completed as I feel like they are holding me back from bigger and better projects.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog.

Cheers,
Abby
